On Wednesday 26 November, Starbucks Coffee Company announced that by the end of 2009, all of its espresso coffee drinks in the UK and Ireland will be both Fairtrade certified and sourced to their own Shared Planet quality and sustainability criteria. London recently joined almost 400 Fairtrade Towns, Cities, Villages, Counties and Islands in the UK, including our other capitals Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast in becoming a Fairtrade City! The event was marked by celebration across the city and an evening reception in City Hall. Read more on the Fairtrade London website. Other Fairtrade Citys include Copenhagen, Dublin, Malmo - Sweden and Leuven - Belgium
