The Island Campaign

After a period of successful campaigning the Isle of Wight was awarded Fairtrade Status on the 28th October 2005. However the campaign does not stop there we have to the status reconfirmed every year, to enable that to happen the IWFF still campaign to raise and maintain the awareness of Fairtrade on the Isle of Wight.

Since the launch of the Fairtrade Mark in 1994 the number of products has now increased to over 1500 product lines. Over 2,000 UK products are available in retail and supplier outlets. As more products are made widely available the Fairtrade Effect will be felt by more and more individuals for whom FT makes such a difference to their lives. However anybody when making individual purchases or deciding their cafe or place of work will support FT grows and develops the FT sustainable culture. We cannot sit back and relax on the knowledge we have achieved the FT Status for the Island for one single year but to ensure it is an ongoing campaign.
